That summer weather is making it’s way back into Los Angeles, and we couldn’t be more excited! It’s common knowledge that when the hot weather returns, your body starts to adjust based on your environment. And that means when it gets hot we start to crave lighter and cooler foods. Salads being one of them. We have been craving nothing but cold pastas and salads lately, and we have an especially delicious salad in store for you all today.
Feast your eyes on this strawberry and pistachio salad, and boy is the timing perfect. Strawberries are back in season and paired perfectly with the pistachios, mixed green lettuce, goat cheese, and the balsamic based dressing. Sounds refreshing doesn’t it? And like most of the recipes we blog about, easy to make for all levels of experience in the kitchen.
Now, it’s almost impossible to discuss the return of summer and warm weather without discussing our game plan to get our bodies bikini ready. Our definition of this might not be what you think though. We are strong believers of the idea that women of all shapes and sizes is what makes them unique, and there is true beauty in that. Our goal is not looking a specific way, but feeling a specific way. There are certain food we eat that make us feel bloated or overly full to point where getting into a bathing suite is that last thing you want to think about. But you don’t want to starve yourself either right?! It’s pretty obvious here that super foods like vegetables, fruits, and nuts that are filled with important nutrients are a great addition to your diet. And not just in the summer months. Real talk, we use summer as an excuse to diet because getting into a bikini when you feel less than your best isn’t an easy thing. Whatever the excuse is, it’s important in any stage of your life to try and eat healthier, and that is exactly what we’re doing. We finally found a salad that is light but also doesn’t leave you feeling starved. Sounds like a win win! Happy cooking and eating!
