Labor Day is final countdown to the end of summer and the beginning of the new school year. Certainly a bittersweet holiday as a young child; I loved the family gatherings, however this also meant sleeping in on a weekday and spending all day at the beach were coming to a close. As an adult, there is nothing bitter about this awesome Holiday because it’s not often we adults get to take a Monday off, am I right?
So, no bitterness in this post today, only sweet with this layered trifle with chocolate pudding and s’more trail mix. Using a zip lock bag filled with chocolate pudding (we used Jell-O brand and followed the directions on the box to make it), cut a corner and pipe in your first layer of pudding into a till thin glass (or any glass of your choosing). Then fill in the middle with your s’mores trail mix, and add another layer of chocolate pudding on top. Finally, lightly toast a marshmallow and top off the trifle with your toasted marshmallow.
This is how we made ours, but it doesn’t mean it’s how you’d prefer to make your’s. Get creative and go crazy till your heart’s content. Get the kids involved for a fun family activity and customize your own trifle. Switch up the flavor of pudding if that’s your preference, you honestly can’t go wrong either way. And to end our post today, we want to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Labor Day fill with fun, sun, and good eats!
