Stuffed Pears
These stuffed pears are a different kind of Holiday dessert with a subtle sweetness and earthy undertones. Perfect to follow a hearty winter meal.

Ingredients
  • 4 PearsFirm a little unripe
  • 1/2cup light corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 8oz pineapple juice
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 4tablespoons Powder sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinamon
Fruit Stuffing
  • 3/4cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 6tablespoons sugar
  • 3tablespoons fresh lemon juice
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Cut the pears in half, spoon out the core in the bottom center using a Mellon baler or spoon. Place pears in a shallow baking dish
  3. Chop your walnuts in a food processor, don’t chop them to much you want some good sized chunks. In a medium bowl mix the walnuts, raisins, sugar and fresh lemon juice mix together. Then scoop fruit filling into the hole of each pear.
  4. Sprinkle water and light corn syrup over the pears in the baking dish.
  5. Mix together pineapple juice and brown sugar, sprinkle a third of the pineapple juice over the pears in the baking dish. Reserve the rest of the juice for basting.
  6. Cover the dish with foil and place in the oven for 30 minutes. Every 10 minutes basting the pears with more pineapple juice.
  7. Before serving pears dust with power sugar and cinnamon.
