Homemade Stovetop Apple Pie Filling
This homemade stovetop apple pie filling is A family favorite. It’s a simple quick recipe packed with lots of fall flavor, it’s the perfect pie filling.

  • 3 Green applessliced
  • 1tbsp lemon juice
  • 1tbsp lemon zest
  • 1tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2tbsp coconut sugar
  • 1tbsp all purpose flour
  • 1tsp cinnamon
  1. Zest one lemon and squeeze lemon juice into a large bowl
  2. Slice apples into small pieces and add to bowl of lemon juice stir to combine.
  3. Add coconut sugar, flour, water, maple syrup and cinnamon over top of apples. Stir to mix ingredients.
  4. Heat apples on the stove over medium heat for 15-20 minutes until soft. Stir occasionally. You want the apples to be soft. Set aside and allow to cool, refrigerating for up to 2 weeks if necessary.
