Braised Pork Chops Creole
This quick and cost efficient braised pork recipe will have you winning in the kitchen, and enjoying a delicious meal in no time.
about ½ inch thick
salt + 1/2 tsp
paprika + 1/4 tsp
ground ginger +1/8 tsp
Crisco or vegetable oil for sauteeing
water or stock
condensed tomato soup
chopped green pepper,
seeds and membrane removed
Crushed corn flakes to taste
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Combine 2 cups flour, 1 tsp white pepper, 1 tsp salt, ⅛ tsp paprika, ⅛ tsp ground ginger to to a large zip lock bag.
Add pork chops and coat fully in your seasoned flour.
Heat crisco or vegetable oil in a pan, and lightly saute seasoned pork chops about 30 seconds per side.
Transfer pork chops to a baking dish
Combine 1 cup of stock and condensed tomato soup, mix together, and pour over pork chops.
Then add ½ cup chopped celery, 1 chopped green pepper, ¾ cup minced onion, ¼ tsp paprika, 8 tsp ginger, ½ tsp salt.
Bake covered for 35 minutes, and check internal temperature. (should be between 145-160 degrees fahrenheit) May need up to an hour depending on thickness of your pork chops.
Removed cover and add crushed cornflakes enough to coat the top or more if you love cornflakes, and bake for an additional 9-10 minutes.
Enjoy immediately. Leftovers are great, just add more crushed cornflakes and reheat in the oven the next day.
