As our weeks of pickling anything we can get our hands on comes to a close, we definitely saved the best for last. Our latest jar of pickled goodness ended up being a last minute creation. Garlic and Onion are staples in my kitchen, and I literally woke up from a dead sleep and my first thought was, “I need to pickle today.” Sammy and I just had so much fun making Pickled Avocados, and Pickled Red Onions we couldn’t help but squeeze one more in.
So I got out of bed, walked into my kitchen, and went on a hunt for things to pickle. Weird I know, but this is why I am a food blogger. A few days earlier I ended up buying a head of elephant garlic shopping for groceries, for no reason really; and of course I always grab an onion or two while I am market shopping. With two of my favorite ingredients right in front of me, it was fate these ingredients be brought together to create greatness. And that is exactly what they did. After two weeks of sitting in my refrigerator, It was time to put them to good use.
For the past few weeks we have been sharing these awesome pickling recipes followed up recipes using said pickled items. The pickled avocados we used to make Pickled Avocado Toast, and the Pickled Red Onion we used to make a tasty Peach Summer Salad. So you must be wondering what we ended up using both the garlic and onion for. And you are just going to have to come back and see what that recipe is on Wednesday, August 30th! It’s only a few days away, and trust me when I say it’s worth a look.
