Happy Monday! If you can’t tell, there was a hint of sarcasm in there. Gosh, why do Monday’s always have to be so difficult. Mine is made worse today because I am pretty sure I am coming down with a cold. I am already not a great morning person, and waking up with a cold just makes it that much worse. But no one said adulting was easy, and I am doing my best to rally today made easier with a glass of this refreshing Orange and Lime Detox Drink.
There is nothing like a large dose of vitamin C to help your body fight a cold, and any kind of sickness really. The only tedious part of this is juicing your oranges, which I totally did by hand. Most people have juicers, and I am thinking I want to grab one for myself, and start juicing on the regular. I found one on amazon I am thinking of buying, it got decent reviews and is very affordable. For anyone interested, you can find it HERE.
There are so many incredible recipes for homemade juice in the “Joy of Cooking” Cookbook. From tomato juice, to sauerkraut juice (not sure how I feel about that one), to a pineapple and grapefruit juice. The options on endless. How would you all feel about seeing more homemade juice recipes? Because as part of Our Journey into the Joy of Cooking, we are cooking through mostly the entire book.
I am not going to lie, there have been a few fails in the book so far. They we’re so bad, we didn’t even feel comfortable posting about them. But maybe we should? One of these days, when we encounter more recipe fails (I think we’ve had two so far), we’ll do a whole post on all the fails from the book. Always good to know what not to make right? That being said, we have started using our best judgment on what we think is the best of the best, and that’s been our main focus so far.
We just knew that our next blog post was going to be a real winner, and it’s an scrumptious recipe for Homemade Hummus. My favorite! Stay tuned, we’ll be sharing that recipe on Wednesday and your not going to want to miss it. As always, we hope you have enjoyed your time with us, and that we’ve help inspire your cooking journey in some way. Have a great day everyone!
