TGIF everyone! I want to start off by mentioning to those that might be new to our blog; a normal post on a normal day for us girls at Blooming Bites consists of a few things. Some rambling and hopefully helpful tips by yours truly (this is Tessa incase that wasn’t obvious), some incredible photos photoshopped by the super talented Sammy, and a recipe card at the end of each post. So basically all things food/recipe related for your cooking needs. Don’t worry, this will not be changing, but we do have something a little different in store today. If you hadn’t guessed by the Oh Baby title, I have an exciting and very personal announcement to share. My husband Charles and I are expecting!

To say what we are feeling would be describing every emotion under the sun. I guess that’s what they say about your first though. We’ve been together for 12 years this October, and we’ve never felt or experienced anything like what these last few months have been. I mean, nothing could have prepared us to hear our baby’s heartbeat for the first time, or seeing the little one grow in my belly week after week. I know you fellow mom’s know what I am talking about.
So as of today, I am a little over 14 weeks, and we’re due mid September. I hope this explains why there’s been a bit of a lag in our posting the last few weeks, I was definitely battling those pregnancy symptoms that have now subsided. And thankfully so, because now all I want to do is EAT! I’ve been told by doctor eating for two is not a thing, so I am working on that, but I can already tell this child is going to be a foodie. So, here’s what you can expect more from us moving forward. See below a list of baby food recipes. One from us we did a while back, and a few from some other talented bloggers. Now don’t worry, these types of recipes will not be taking over the whole blog, but we will start incorporating a few here and there. And some will be not just be toddler/kid friendly, but adult friendly as well. For example, the broccoli potato and cheese puree is very adult friendly and super delicious.

The goal here is to start familiarizing myself with what comes after breastfeeding, and helping others create easy kid friendly meal plans for healthy and happy growing children at every stage. Just so typical of me to already start thinking of what diet my child will have. It’s really quite funny when you think about it, but also very relevant to this awesome platform we have to share stuff like this. So, any and all moms out there that want to share their motherly ways, I am happy and ready to embrace any advice or knowledge you care to share. It takes a village i’ve been told, and we must stick together. That’s it for us today, and we hope you all have a great weekend!
