Do you have small kids at home? And are you sick of feeding your kids store bought snacks that list a bunch of unknown ingredients on the back leaving you confused? I am happy to report your in the right place. As a future mom, I’ve got a lot of things to figure out in the parent department. Like pacifier or no pacifier? Cloth diapers or regular diapers? Organic clothing or whatever is most cost efficient? Things like that. But what I do know, is I want to know what food my child is eating, and what better way than to home make as much of their diet as possible. Which brings us to these Homemade Strawberry Fruit Snacks.
With how easy these were to make, there is no reason to store buy fruit snacks again. While these are strawberry flavored, you can easily substitute in any fruit. Your kids will love them, and you don’t have to worry as you sit there and watch them inhale a batch of these addicting treats.
So as we approach the weekend, and you need a quick an easy snacks to feed your little ones, consider whipping up a batch of homemade fruit snacks! Just a little tip though, use a shallow silicone mold or glass pyrex as these can be a bit tricky to extract once they set fully. - 2 cups strawberry (or other fruit)
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 4 tbs honey
- 1/4 tsp vanilla
- 3 tbs gelatin
Ingredients

- Cut up strawberries and put into saucepan with lemon juice.
- Heat over medium low heat until strawberries become tender.
- Puree in a blender.
- Mix in honey and vanilla.
- Slowly (really, really slowly or you’ll get big yucky clumps) mix in the gelatin. Use a whisk to really mix it in well.
- Pour into silicone molds or a small square pan.
- Refrigerate for an hour to speed up the setting time.
- Run a knife around the edge of the pan or mold that you used, pop out the mixture, and cut as desired.
