We are stocking up on chicken stock to gear up for the cold months ahead. And by stocking up, we mean homemaking a big batch of this liquid gold. I have been experimenting for awhile to find the perfect combination of ingredients to get flavorful Homemade Chicken Stock. This recipe is featured in our new E-book, Kitchen Hacks.
Not only do we include the recipe for this tasty goodness, but we discuss a quick and easy way to skim the fat from the stock as well. Growing up, every time I got sick, my mother would whip up a batch of the best chicken soup in town. Her system to skim the fat from the broth was leaving it in the refrigerator overnight until it all coagulated and hardened at the top. The easy part was skimming that fat at the point, but the hard part was having to wait overnight for it.
I wish I knew then what I know now. This new system doesn’t require you to wait overnight for what is the only good part about being sick. All it takes is an hour or so to allow the broth to cool to room temperature, and a few ice cubes. Intrigued? This is one of many awesome kitchen hacks and recipes we have included in our new E-book available for purchase below. Be sure to grab your copy today!
Next up on the blog we have a typical and scrumptious fall recipe. Literally the reason Friday cannot come fast enough. We have a pumpkin cheesy gnocchi recipe that is sure to be a crowd favorite, it certainly was in my house. Even though pumpkin everything has already been plaguing my social media feeds (of course I’m not complaining), I always feel like it’s not truly fall until it’s officially fall. We might be a few days early, but the fall roll out officially starts Wednesday! Stay tuned, it’s going to be a great season here at Blooming Bites. Happy almost fall everyone!
