We’re about a week and half out from Super Bowl 52 and we’ve got Garlic Hummus on our minds. While I have mentioned in the past my interest is not so much in the game itself, but how can you not love the food and good company. Not going to lie, I am also super excited to see the halftime show. I grew up listening to Justin Timberlake, in fact Nsync was my very first concert. He’s going to kill it I know it.
So while I sit and enjoy the halftime show, i’ll be snacking on healthy foods, instead if the usual not so healthy cheat day eats that’s the norm in my household. One of the snacks i’ll be serving is of course, fresh homemade Garlic Hummus; because who doesn’t love a good hummus recipe.
I have to say there is a real difference between store bought Garlic Hummus and homemade Garlic Hummus. Not to mention it’s pretty darn easy to make it from scratch. This recipe is part of Our Journey into the Joy of Cooking, be sure to head over to that blog post for more information. This recipe from the book is a two part recipe, and the second part of the recipe is a homemade tahin sauce that makes this truly homemade and delicious.
God knows there are so many hummus recipes out there, and with it being such a popular super snack i’ve been seeing quite a few them circling the internet lately. I want to say ours is the best, but I haven’t tried all the others out there. All I am saying is give this one a try, because it’s refreshing ingredients and texture is unlike any i’ve tried.
That wraps up our post for today, and as always we hope you have enjoyed yourself and stumbled on a new favorite recipe. Up next on the blog is another healthy super bowl snack featuring chicken salad in lettuce cups that is stylish to serve and sure to be a crowd pleasure at your super bowl party. Stay tuned for that coming Friday! Until then, happy cooking friends.
